Privacy Policy

The short version: the app has no accounts and collects no personal information. Your profile stays on your phone. Online matches send only your chosen nickname, avatar, an anonymous ID and your game moves to our server, where they are kept in memory and discarded when the match ends.

1. Information stored on your device only

The following is saved locally on your device and is never uploaded:

Your chosen player name and avatar (an emoji);
Coins, unlocked themes, and per-mode game statistics;
App settings (sound, haptics, reduced motion, first-player rule);
A randomly generated anonymous device identifier (a UUID) used only to reconnect you to an online match if your connection drops.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. We cannot recover it because we never had it.

2. Online multiplayer

When you use the Online mode, the app connects to our game server (play.tictactoe.indicstudio.com, operated by IndicStudio). For the duration of a match the server processes:

Your chosen nickname and avatar (shown to your opponent);
Your anonymous device identifier (for reconnecting to your match);
Your game moves and match state;
Your IP address (technically necessary to maintain the connection, and used for abuse prevention such as rate limiting).

Match data is held in server memory only and is discarded when the room closes. It is not written to a database. Standard server logs (which may include IP addresses) are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting and are then automatically rotated away. Connections are encrypted with TLS.

3. Wi-Fi (local network) play

The Wi-Fi Match mode connects two phones directly over your local network. Your nickname, avatar and moves travel only between the two devices; nothing is sent over the internet. The app uses the local-network permissions (NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES, multicast) solely to discover and connect to the other player's device, never for location.

4. What we do NOT do

No accounts, no email, no phone number, no passwords;
No collection of contacts, location, files or any personal data;
No analytics or tracking SDKs in the current version;
No advertising in the current version;
No selling or sharing of data with third parties — we have nothing to sell.

5. Advertising (future versions)

A future update may add optional, rewarded video ads (watch an ad to earn coins) using Google AdMob. If and when that happens, this policy will be updated first, the app will comply with Google's advertising policies, and ads will remain strictly optional — never forced between games.

6. Children

The app is suitable for all ages. It has no chat, no user-generated content beyond a nickname and a predefined emoji avatar, and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

7. Data retention & your rights

Because we store no personal data about you on our systems, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request — deleting the app's data on your device (or uninstalling) removes everything. If you have any privacy question or concern, contact us and we will help.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date.
